6-Week Curriculum
Week 1 – Databricks Platform & Architecture
Data + AI Platform, Lakehouse architecture, workspace and notebooks, Databricks SQL, compute, SQL Warehouses, Databricks Runtime, Catalog Explorer, intro to Unity Catalog, SQL and Python fundamentals, basic permissions.
Lab: Set up a Databricks workspace and run basic SQL and Python tasks.
Week 2 – Data Ingestion & Loading
Batch and streaming ingestion, Auto Loader, CSV/JSON/Parquet, Delta Lake tables, managed and external tables, COPY INTO, schema inference and evolution, incremental ingestion, checkpoints.
Lab: Build an ingestion pipeline that loads raw data into Delta Lake.
Week 3 – Data Transformation & Modeling
SQL and PySpark, DataFrames, joins, aggregations, window functions, data cleansing, INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE/MERGE, ETL pipelines, Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
Lab: Build a Bronze → Silver → Gold pipeline using SQL and PySpark.
Week 4 – Lakeflow Jobs & Workflow Orchestration
Creating and configuring jobs, tasks and dependencies, scheduling, parameters, compute configuration, monitoring, failure handling, retries, notifications.
Lab: Create a scheduled pipeline with multiple dependent tasks using Lakeflow Jobs.
Week 5 – CI/CD, Troubleshooting, Monitoring & Optimization
Dev/test/prod environments, Git integration, Databricks Repos, Databricks Asset Bundles, Spark UI, query performance, common pipeline failures, partitioning, file management, caching.
Lab: Apply version control, then troubleshoot and optimize a sample pipeline.
Week 6 – Governance, Security & Final Certification Preparation
Unity Catalog (catalogs, schemas, tables, volumes), permissions, access control, authentication and authorization, security best practices. Full syllabus revision, exam strategy, time management, Mock Exam 1 and Mock Exam 2, review of incorrect answers, gap analysis and final readiness assessment.
Every week includes a quiz, certification-style practice questions and a practical assignment.
Real-World Capstone Project
Build an end-to-end Banking Transaction Data Engineering Pipeline on Databricks.

Databricks Certification Preparation
You will receive certification-focused lessons, weekly practice questions, topic-based assessments, two mock exams, knowledge-gap identification and final exam-readiness review.
The Databricks certification exam is administered separately by Databricks. Exam registration and fees are not included in the Academy training fee unless specifically included in a selected package.

- Must have minimum 1+ years of Data Engineering experience and combining ( sofware engineering of 2+ years with 6+ month Data engineering experience).
